PERMANENT RESIDENCY

Express Entry

To be eligible to create an Express Entry profile you must meet the minimum requirements of either the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker, or Federal Skilled Trades program. Applicants are scored out of 1200 points based on their education, work experience, age, and language ability. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada invites candidates to apply for permanent residency based on their score and which program(s) they are eligible to apply to.

Provincial Nomination

An application can be made directly to a province or territory for nomination. If approved the nomination certificate can be used to apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for permanent residency. Each province or territory has different programs available and the requirements vary depending on the program or province.

Express Entry Provincial Nominee

Some provinces can invite candidates in the Express Entry pool to apply for nomination. Once candidates have received a nomination from a province they will receive an additional 600 points in the Express Entry pool which will ensure they are selected from the pool by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada during the next pool draw.
